This momma. Where do I even begin?! I first met Amber about 4 years ago when we started going to a new (to us) church in town and she was one of the first few kind souls to make us feel welcome. She was always so inviting, and we soon settled in to her same small group, where we are still involved today! She and her husband were blessed with their sweet little boy Paxton 3.5 years ago, and I can still remember when he was presented at church as the “brand newest member.”
Paxton is fearfully, and wonderfully made, and is the cutest little guy around. Shortly after he was born, Amber and her husband learned that Paxton had inherited a very rare genetic condition called Congenital Disorder of Glycosolation Type 1A, or CDG-1A. I won’t even begin to explain the complexities of the disorder, but you can read all about their experiences on their family blog, The Leaping Leonards. Needless to say, God is good, and Paxton is doing really well! And Amber? Let’s just say she’s a rockstar mom. Her faithfulness and positivity is something to admire.
A few days ago, Amber contacted me last minute to do a session with just she and Paxton. A mommy and me session, if you will. She is planning to surprise her husband with these photos, so shhh! (Disclaimer: he’s not on social media, so she gave me the go ahead to blog these, just don’t tell him directly and we’ll be good!) So, we headed out to a favorite park of mine, found us a pretty little field, and got to work!
I love how these turned out, and I think we captured just how HAPPY of a kiddo Paxton is. He was so much fun to hang out with, and I’m so glad I got to know him better. He is a hoot! What I think these capture most of all though, is a mother’s unconditional love for her sweet boy!
Here are my favorites…enjoy!
